Boise Portrait Photographer - Why Portraits Are So Important
This breath-taking photo is of my dear dad from when he was in the army. I don't know who took this photo, but I am forever grateful to have such a striking photo of him. We lost dad a couple years ago and it has left a hole in my heart. I love looking at pictures of him and feel all the love and respect we had all over again. Unfortunately, I only have a handful of photos of him. One of my favorites is of him and mom wearing matching crazy button down shirts with colorful collars and suit jackets. This picture is a framed photo that has survived years of moving and hangs in my office. These pictures make me fully realize how important it is to capture precious moments in life, and how I can help others capture those memories as a portrait photographer.
After losing dad, the importance of getting portraits done became painfully evident. We change so fast. There is so much history in family. The feeling of warm nostalgia and happiness (or sadness) from looking at pictures in unmatched. I also realized how important it is to have more than just digital pictures. Don't get me wrong, digital pictures are slick and so convenient. It is important to share our proud moments with our friends and family and it's so easy to shoot an email or post a pic on the interwebs. However, I realized after the initial excitement of a digital image being shared, it is eventually forgotten and often never to be seen again, unless the image is printed.
